When you update to or install Windows 10 Version 1803 or Server 2019, the Interactive Services Detection Service (UI0Detect) will no longer be present. This means you can no longer easily switch desktop to Session 0. Microsoft announced this change was going to occur around a year ago. If you are running earlier versions of Microsoft Windows this update does not affect you.
FireDaemon Pro Users
If you have FireDaemon Pro installed then you will no longer be able to access Session 0. Switching from the FireDaemon Pro GUI or command line will simply not work. Your FireDaemon Pro services will continue to run normally.
FireDaemon Zero (Session 0 Viewer) Users
If you have FireDaemon Zero (Session 0 Viewer) installed, the UI0Detect service should have been preserved during upgrade to 1803. You will be able to continue to switch desktop but will be presented with a black screen.
FireDaemon ZeroInput Users
If you had installed the FireDaemon ZeroInput driver to restore keyboard and mouse on Session 0, your mouse will still work but you will be presented with a black screen.
How Do I Fix This?
To regain access to Session 0 please deploy the latest version of our FireDaemon ZeroInput driver in conjunction with FireDaemon Zero. This driver not only restores keyboard and mouse but makes interactive applications visible again on Session 0. Zero gives you the ability to switch back and forth between your logged in session and Session 0.
