TABLE OF CONTENTS


There are numerous tabs allowing for the configuration of various aspects of your FireDaemon Zero experience. The preferences for FireDaemon Zero are global.


General Tab

The General tab allows you to specify how updates and notifications are handled.

The following table runs through the options on this screen.

Check for Updates

Sets how frequently FireDaemon Zero will check for updates. The available options are:

  • Off
  • Daily
  • Weekly
  • Monthly.
Check NowThis button will manually check to see whether your FireDaemon Zero application is up to date.
Notifications
Display Taskbar NotificationsSets whether taskbar notifications will be displayed. Uncheck the box if you do not want to receive notifications.


Appearance Tab

The Appearance tab allows you to set the desktop background colour on Session 0. The default is black, but all hex colours are allowed.

Click the current colour to open the colour picker. 

An array of standard colours are available. Alternatively, you can define up to 16 custom colours by clicking the Define Custom Colors button.

To create a custom colour, either click on the desired colour in the top portion of the screen or enter the colour’s hex details below. Once you are happy with the colour, click Add to Custom Colors. It will appear in the Custom Colors section on the left.


To select your Session 0 color, click on the colour you want on the lefthand side of the screen, either from Basic or Custom colors and click OK.


Security Tab

The security tab controls whether command prompts and power shells can be launched while in Session 0.

This field has three options:

  • No option: Command shells cannot be used in Session 0
  • Option for unelevated command shells: Command shells can be used as user
  • Option for elevated+unelevated command shells: Command shells can be run as system or Administrator.


Auditing Tab

The Auditing tab allows you to set which FireDaemon Zero events are logged to the Windows Event log.

Uncheck the boxes if you do not want these events to be logged to the Windows Event log.

Quirks Tab

The Quirks tab allows you to control additional behaviors of FireDaemon Zero.

The following table describes the options.

Description
Return to User Session when inactive
Sets how long in seconds you are permitted to remain on Session 0 prior to being returned to your logged-in session due to inactivity (i.e. no mouse movement or keyboard presses). If you enter the value of 0 seconds, you will remain on Session 0 indefinitely, once you have switched to it.
Use legacy console
Enables Legacy Console Mode. Some console type services do not appear without this mode enabled.
