Starting with Windows 10 Version 1803, and Windows Server 2019, Microsoft has removed the Interactive Services Detection Service. Hence, from those OS versions onwards, both FireDaemon Zero and ZeroInput must be installed in order to switch to Session 0 to manage interactive services.

On Windows 10 Version 1709 or earlier, access to desktop Session 0 still works as usual.

If FireDaemon Zero is already installed prior to upgrading to Windows 10 Version 1803, the Interactive Service Detection Service will be preserved. However, when you switch desktops, you will switch to a blank screen. The FireDaemon ZeroInput driver must be deployed to resolve this issue.

By default, a switch to Session 0 will automatically revert back to the regular logged-in desktop session after 30 seconds. This auto-revert behaviour can be disabled in the FireDaemon Zero Options settings.
